This movie was crazy but almost had a little too much action for me. I felt like there was not a second where I could sit back and relax, because most of the time I was either covering my eyes or getting ready for a big fight scene or a gory scene. I did enjoy this movie though because of the realistic feeling and scenery. I felt like I really connected with the characters. Also, I was kind of confused because I thought the movie was going to be about one thing, and then another character was introduced and the story went in a total different direction.
The title Hurt Locker really confused me. I think it might mean a place where things are hidden away, and all of the pain and negative things are hidden away in one place.

Captain Phillips
I was very disappointed that I had to miss the first half of the movie, but the second half of the movie was enough to show me how amazing it really is. I was shocked at how quickly I became involved with the plot. I think the story is crazy and interesting to anyone. It is very easy to relate to and you do not need any prior knowledge, which I like. I would for sure recommend this to others, and I want to watch the movie again so I can see the whole thing and how it all blends together.

United 93
This movie was amazing. Although it was very sad, it was extremely suspenseful and interesting to watch. Something I thought was different about this movie is that there was no real plot for most of it, it was just people running around and yelling things to each other and calling other places. I thought this was great because it showed what it was actually like at the time, instead of just showing the "interesting" parts. I felt like I was really part of the story and I got very immersed into it.
Apollo 13
This was one of my favorite movies I have ever seen. I did not think it would something I would be too interested in, but I really tried to get into the movie from the beginning and I ended up loving it. It was so suspenseful, probably one of the most suspenseful movies I've seen. I have never really looked into this topic so I did not know the outcome until I saw the movie which probably made it a lot more exciting for me then for other people who did know the ending. I was very tempted to look it up but I did not want to ruin the excitement of the movie. This movie really made me appreciate people who put their lives at risk for the country and do things that people sometimes never even think or know anything about. This topic and movie should been shown much more than it is now. I am so happy I got to see it because I normally would of never chose this movie to watch.
I think this level of funding should continue, because America needs to stay as a leading country and gain more and more information. Although this is not a vital task for the well being of the country, there has already been so much put into it, it will be useless for them to take away funding now.
Like I said before, I think the United States should try and stay ahead of other countries. The country has put so much energy into space travel, they cannot just stop now after so many people have risked their lives and dedicated their lives to this activity.

Parkland
Before I watched this movie, I have never heard of it before. It started out kind of weird, not like I was expecting at all. I did not know what to think, but when the action began I got very immersed into the story and just wanted to know what happened. I love history but I do not know much about this topic, so it was very cool for me to get to learn the story in this way. I would much rather watch a movie like this about a president and his life, then read about it in a book or textbook. The film made me really think about what it would be like to be any of the people in it, especially the doctors and the extreme amount of stress they must of felt in the situation.

The Pianist
I had heard amazing things about this movie, so going into it I had high hopes. I thought the plot was a little slow but the story was very interesting to me and I loved how they told the story of what Jews had to go through in the Holocaust by focusing in on one main person. I felt that I learned so much about the time period in this movie, and it seemed very real and realistic. I liked how music was involved and how it was one of the driving factors in the movie.
Szpilman was in a very scary position and honestly, he did not have very many other options. He was lucky enough to survive as long as he already has and he was very lucky to have so many friends that are not Jews to help him and give him a home. When the Nazis confronted him, I would imagine that he would be extremely frightened but willing to do anything to stay alive. I also think that when Hosenfeld asked Szpilman to play the piano, it made him see Szpliman as a real and normal person similar to himself. Even though he is Jewish, he is a still a person and has feelings also. Szpliman got very lucky that he met those Nazis and not others because the ending to his story may have been very different.

Defiance
I thought this movie was awesome. I loved the action, but I especially liked it because I connected to it emotionally. I feel very strongly about this topic, and seeing this movie really furthered my interest for the Holocaust and the people involved in it. I felt proud of my religion and I felt strong emotions for the people who had to live through the Holocaust. I thought the movie looked very realistic and the actors were perfect for the parts. I will always remember this movie and how it made me feel, because I never realized that this happened until I watched this movie. This movie also taught me so much about the Holocaust and the people living through it. Movies are a great way to teach about certain topics without using a textbook.
By this statement, Tuvia's "revenge" is going to be on the people hunting them down. The bad people all want the Jews to be killed, so them living through the battles and fighting back is the Jews getting their revenge. In the case of this movie and the story, revenge is an act of humanity. The Jews deserve to live and just because of the times and the place they live in, they are being targeted and killed. In many cases revenge is a horrible and unnecessary thing, but in this movie I think it can be considered an act of humanity.

The Godfather
This movie was very different than most movies I have seen. Some parts were very entertaining and other parts were pretty boring. I thought there were some scenes that could have been left out to make the movie shorter, and the plot would have stayed the same. I thought the time period and characters were interesting but I would of liked the movie a lot more if it got to the point quicker.
Vito Corleone is the "moral" center of the film because he ran the family business and made all the decisions. He was very secretive and created the whole plot of the film. He was involved in a secret business, and had a lot of friends around his area who helped him do whatever he wanted to do. He created a lot of trouble, but was the most important role in the film. I was shocked when he collapsed because I did not think that such an important character would be killed during the movie. I think that it was smart of them to do that though, because it caught everyones attention and made me wonder what was going to happen next.
It is different then what I already knew about organized crime because I did not know how much planning goes into it and how many connections are really necessary. It was really cool to see "behind the scenes" of organized crime and to see what really happens. Normally, you only see the final product and the results, but it was nice to see the entire process. I do not understand really why people consider this a classic. I think it is a good film, but I am not too interested in the topic so I may have a different opinion than others.

Miracle
This movie is one of the best I have ever seen and I for sure want to see it again. I thought the acting was amazing and I got really invested in the story. By the end of the movie I felt like I really knew all of the characters and I wanted to see more. I also was really interested in the credits of the movie, like where all the players went after their big win. The movie was extremely inspiring and made me realize that with the right direction and the right attitudes anything is possible.
In the 1970s the Cold War was taking place and there was a lot of tension between the Soviet Union and America. It was the year for the olympics, and the Soviet team has never been beaten and is known to be the best team in the world. The battle between the hockey teams also carried into the Cold War battles, along with other conflicts like the Iranian Hostage Crisis. The Soviet Union helped out Iran against America, which caused many new issues. A new American coach was hired who had new ideas about how he wanted to lead the American team, and he chose his players out of the best college hockey players in the country. He was happy with his team selection, but was extremely hard on them. He made sure they never gave up and pushed them to their limits. The American team started a little rough in the first olympic game, but they finally became a team and a family, and began to win more and more games. Finally in the final game against the Soviet Union, they worked as hard as they can and beat them.
I think that all terrorist attacks on America have made huge impacts in the way Americans think and how our country is run. The American public will never be the same and there will always be an aspect of fear and the need for protection in everything we do. America was also inspired to show how strong of a country it can be, and protect everyone who needs to be protected.

I thought this film was one of the best I have seen. It was so powerful and I will never forget it. The scenes really explained the history and helped me understand what it was really like at that time in America. I learned things from that movie that I could never learn in a history textbook. It was so inspiring and made me feel proud of him, even though I never knew him. I wish I could of met him in person and I hope he realized the affect he had on America.
Jackie had a huge impact on the baseball world, which really opened up the eyes of the whole country. He for sure helped the country by showing his bravery and inspiring other young athletes to do the same as he did. He made a statement and he will never be forgotten.

The title of the movie is "Cinderella Man" because it is about a man who is struggling and gets a second chance. Braddock worked very hard and did everything right, but because of where he lives and where he is from, he has no money. Similar to the traditional story of Cinderella, Braddock gets very lucky and gets the chance to be great. He takes that chance and is very successful. I loved the story. I thought it was very inspiring and made me feel very grateful for what I have and for the opportunities I have been given. I felt like I wanted to go out and make a difference in the world.
Honestly, right now I say I would not have the guts to steal, but I feel like if I was in that situation I would steal for my family. I would want my family to be happy and healthy at all times and I would do anything to make that happen. I feel like the boy in the movie is just trying to help his family, and is not actually trying to hurt anyone.
I think the changes of the character of Max really helped me get into the movie. It was so suspenseful, and without his character the movie would have been boring at some parts. It is not very ethical, because they are making Max look bad to the public. I feel like they should have had more truth in the movie in order to portray the real story. I do not think it takes away from the story about Braddock, it furthers the plot.

Tombstone
Overall, I thought the movie was very entertaining and interesting. I love the time period and setting, and I have never seen a movie like Tombstone before so I was excited. The action was crazy and I felt like I was always on the edge of my seat. I also enjoyed the little love story that took place throughout the film, I thought it kept it moving and set the movie up for a great ending. I like how various sides of the characters personalities were shown, I felt very involved with the story. I thought the women in the movie were interesting. They were very telling of the time period and I felt that they made the movie seem more realistic.
An event becomes legendary when it affected many people and the world today. If an event impacts the world so much that we still know and learn from it today, then it is legendary. A person is a legend if they do something so drastic that it affects the people around them. A legendary person is someone who will always be remembered for their acts and a person whose acts made a difference in the world. I think that Wyatt is a legend because he made an impact on so many people and is such a dedicated person. He is very serious and focused and gets what he wants. Wyatt is not afraid of anything and that has helped him become legendary. There is not a specific part of the Wild West that appeals to me, but I love watching movies and reading about the time period. I like the clothes and I like seeing how they lived in those towns, and what they did for fun.

My Introduction
A word that best describes me: easygoing.
Interests and goals: I am a competitive dancer and it is a huge part of my life. I am on a team and travel to competitions and I love it! I dance about 20 hours a week and it is my passion. My goals include attending college next fall and my career plans are still to be determined.
What I like about school: I enjoy the challenge. I like the feeling of understanding something after working for it.
What I dislike about school: I feel like sometimes the topics do not interest me. I wish there was a way for students to still learn what is necessary, but have more options for classes and topics that are interesting to them.
Qualities of my favorite teacher: Sense of humor. I also like when a teacher is genuinely interested in their students lives and is willing to help them with any problems in the class. I also like teachers who are easy to talk to and teachers who do not make a student feel bad for asking a question.

I loved the movie for many reasons. First, I thought it looked very realistic and I felt like I was there with the soldiers and officers. I could feel their emotion and passion for the soldiers. I liked the emotional aspect of the film, I felt that it was very easy to understand and relate to even though I did not have much knowledge on the topic before I saw the film. I will always remember this movie when I discuss civil rights and when discussing the hardships of people in America. I would recommend this to others who have an interest in civil rights or a good action filled story. Although there was a lot of action in the movie, I believe the emotional part of the film is the part that would draw someone in.
